Arm Drop


Have the pitcher stand up very straight and hold her arms out to her sides. Let them drop and they should fall into her legs. Obviously that is not a very effective path for pitching a softball as it will hit her leg. Now have her join her hands in front of her. Again raise them to shoulder height and let them fall. They should pass in front of her body. What happened is that the shoulders got rolled slightly forward when the hands are joined in front of the body. This creates a clear path for the ball to travel on the powerline without doing some body contortions.
